While working on this interior/still-life I was listening to the news as the insurrection at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C started to unfold. The shock of that event made me want to say something, even if it was in a subtle way. I turned a light blue bed sheet that was waiting to be torn up into paint rags into the flag as a way to suggest discarded democracy; a strong symbol trampled and forgotten.
